A coin found in 1986 and neglected has been recognised and dated by Professor Dashu Qin, Beijing University. It is a rare kind found mainly in West Inland China, Northern Song dinasty, Emperor ShenZong, 1080 AD.
First solid proof of an ancient trade between China and Ethiopia, now dated at one thousand years, first dating of Harla, the ancient mysterious town where it was found. Design compared with a coin, 2nd period of ShengZong, 1078-1085, reads Yuan Feng Tong Bao. Tong Bao means "circulating cash", Yuang Fang is the period, or throne name of ShenZong.
Prof. Marco Vigano recovered in Harla in April 2011 a second coin, a Huang Song Tong Bao dated at around 1040, again by prof. Dashu Qin, Northern Song Empire, again inner eastern China!
We are investigating the trade routes that tied China and Ethiopia one thousand years ago, via India and the Arab peninsula. Sada Mire has recovered some evidence of the presence of SEVENTY towns and trade posts along the Somaliland Coast and pointing inland towards Ethiopia.
Found this field, trace fossils? NO, just erosion features...
